Education

  • [1990] : B.A. in English from Boston University in Massachusetts, then later became a grades 6-12 English teacher for the next decade.

Career and Achievements

Venker began her public career by writing opinion pieces on marriage, motherhood, and cultural dynamics, which laid the foundation for her emergence as a prominent cultural commentator. Her early work focused on the struggles of working mothers, which culminated in her first book, 7 Myths of Working Mothers, published in 2004. This book challenged mainstream narratives about work-life balance and argued in favor of stay-at-home parenting as a valid and often preferable choice.

In addition to her writing and speaking engagements, Venker has been affiliated with several organizations that reflect her values. She founded Women for Men, a platform to address the struggles facing modern men and promote mutual understanding between the sexes. She served as Vice President of The Center for Marriage Policy and is connected with Leading Women for Shared Parenting, an organization that supports co-parenting following divorce. Through these roles, Venker has positioned herself as a key voice in advocating for the preservation of traditional family values and for redefining gender roles in a way she sees as more balanced and realistic.
