Addressing the Crisis Facing Boys and Men in America

Established by a multi-partisan commission of thirty-four nationally recognized scholars and practitioners, the Coalition aims to advocate for the creation of a White House Council dedicated to addressing the multifaceted challenges confronting boys and men in the United States.

To urge the establishment of a White House Council on Boys and Men to address critical issues such as education, fatherlessness, emotional and physical health, and employment challenges affecting boys and men nationwide.

A nation where boys and men are supported to thrive in educational settings, maintain robust health, engage positively in family and community life, and contribute meaningfully to the workforce.

The initiative was inspired by a discussion between the White House Boards and Commissions Director Joanna Martin and Dr. Warren Farrell, leading to the formation of a commission to investigate the status of boys and men and propose solutions.

Dr. Warren Farrell, along with thirty-three other scholars and practitioners, recognized the escalating challenges faced by boys and men and sought to bring these issues to national attention through the establishment of a dedicated council.

They developed a comprehensive proposal outlining the five critical components of the crisis affecting boys and men: education, jobs, fatherlessness, physical health, and emotional health. They've also engagemed with policymakers and the public to raise awareness about the necessity of a White House Council on Boys and Men.

• Employment: Preparing boys and men for future job markets and addressing unemployment challenges.

They published a detailed proposal that has garnered attention from policymakers and the media, sparking national conversations about the issues facing boys and men. They've also collaborated with various organizations to amplify the call for a dedicated White House Council.
