Advancing scholarship, education, and advocacy on men and masculinities
An interdisciplinary organization focused on promoting research, education, and awareness about male issues, men’s studies, and masculinity.
To foster scholarly inquiry and public understanding of men, masculinities, and male-related issues through research, education, and advocacy.
To be a leading voice in advancing knowledge and dialogue on men and masculinities, promoting gender equity, and addressing challenges faced by males in society.
Founded to fill a gap in academic and social discourse about men and masculinities, the American Institute of Male Studies (AIMS) has developed a platform to support research, education, and advocacy related to male issues. The organization provides resources and a collaborative community for scholars, practitioners, and advocates.
AIMS has contributed significantly to legitimizing men’s studies as a scholarly discipline, expanding public knowledge on men’s health, education, and social challenges, and influencing policies aimed at gender equity.
